BRC Version 6

After many months of consultation with Food Industry Experts and the Major Retailers the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety version 6  is now available.


The BRC version 6 Standard can be purchased from the BRC Bookshop.


The BRC version 6 will come into force in January 2012.


BRC version 5 can be used up to January 2012.

A brief summary of the major changes in BRV version 6 against BRC version 5 are;


Expanded sections on HACCP, Supplier & Raw Material Approval, Foreign Body Control, Hygiene & Housekeeping and  Allergens.


The voluntery unannounced audits will be changing into a 2 stage audit with the 1st stage a GMP audit and the 2nd stage focusing more on the paperwork.
